XX. "The Afterlife" - Donald Antrim

I need to read this, but when Dan Simmons's book, Drood, came into my possession, everything else faded away.

TELL ME ABOUT IT

Drood is my life right now, and I'm loving it!

How far are you? I just reached p. 50... don't you think that Simmons came across all of this information while doing research for "The Terror"?

Never heard of it, now I'm interested.

I have about 20 pages left, which I'll finish the second I get home from work (I'm through with lugging it to work everyday, which I did all last week).

I definitely noticed The Terror's influence here...I've heard many say that Drood isn't as good as The Terror, but I disagree. I'm loving it.

Now I want to read everything Simmons has ever written.

I'm about halfway through and need to take a break. It's just too much Dickens and Wilkie's back story right now.

Can't remember what else I've read of Simmons, but I don't think anything compares to THE TERROR. I can't wait to read your review!

I JUST finished. Review will be up tomorrow morning, but I can say right now that I absolutely loved it.

DROOOOOOD.

I need to finish this book. I have a pile of 10-12 books teetering on my bedside table. Oh, Wilkie!
