"A classic is something that everybody wants to have read and nobody wants to read." - Mark Twain

Informal poll... what shall the Books for Breakfast blog concentrate on for 2008?

1. 1001 books you should read before you die

2. Penguin's 100 classic books

3. The top book award for each of the United States during the past five years.

4. A book for each country on the planet (The Terror for Antarctica, for example).

5. Other?

Do you remember that book list from Mr. Cz's class in high school? I still have it. It's 100 books to read to be a well-rounded human being, from Aristotle to Shakespeare to modern historians. Of course I don't read, but you might find it useful.

I'll vote for the 1001 books to read before you die.

1001 books. Penguin is too limited and honestly not all of the state award winners will be that good. You'd be limiting yourself to a purely american view, which of course I think is a disgrace.
